Happy Birthday Stipple Card

Well hello again. Today I am putting up another card in the same color scheme as the last post with the exception of adding the yellow. This lets it fit into the Color Throwdown Challenge this week.

The flowers are a super fun background stamp from Simon Says Stamp called Gerba. I kept the coloring really loose on purpose. I also made the yellow off center and bigger than expected. First I created a quick circle from a post-it and masked the center of the flower. Taking my large stipple brush I fanned out the colors of each flower. Removing the center sticker I stippled the yellow centers adding some detail with a coordinating yellow marker. I added some coordinating dots with my Nuvo drops to finish it off. And bam... that's it. Super fast and easy. Give it a try, coloring doesn't always have to be inside the lines. :)

Coloring outside the lines again,

Long Time No Blog(ing)

Well hello there! It's been a while. I have been working hard on my cards, unfortunately not really for blogging just yet. BUT getting them ready to open my Etsy Shop. I am so excited! I have put together some of my best work (at least I think so). There will be single cards and sets of cards. All meticulously done and coordinated. Anyway, I don't want to bore you... on with a card from a set that I created yesterday.

I am in love with this cloud stamp from Impression Obsession, I just think the realistic nature of it is stunning. Here I have blended three different inks for a gradated look. I kept the card simple to let the clouds shine. Another note, I stamped the greeting in the same gradation and placed it appropriately.

Happy to be back!

Just Because

Here's the second in the two piece set that will be going into my Etsy store soon. Be sure to check it out as soon as I have it stocked-up. I'll put a link here... :)

This particular card is number two of a set. The second is the subject of my previous post. I'm a sucker for high contrast and I love black on white. This houndstooth looks fabulous in black against the white. It's called Houndstooth (duh) from Stampin' Up! (retired). The roses are from Papertrey Ink, FriendshipJar Flowers and the greeting is from Heidi Swapp, the set doesn't have a name, but I picked it up from Joanns.

I'm working on cards to put up for sale in my Etsy store. This particular card is one of a set. The second one will be the subject of my next post. I'm a sucker for high contrast and I love black on white. This doily looks fabulous in black against the white. It's called Hello Doily from Stampin' Up! (retired). The roses are from Altenew and the greeting is from Heidi Swapp, the set doesn't have a name, but I picked it up from Joanns.

Dejavu

A second card exactly like the first one I did for the color challenge at The Color Throwdown. I was just playing with a different order of colors. Here's a link to the post for the first card.

Here's to the funky cards,

Thanks, Single Rose

I sold a reasonably pricey stamp holder/organizer today. I felt like it was required to make a card to include in the package. I may be overzealous, but I enjoy giving cards wherever I can, don't you? So here is a quick one, a simple note of thanks for a person I don't know, and never will. I hope she enjoys the card for a brief moment.... and then digs into her new organizing goodie. :)

Thanks for new ideas,
Alicia

Together, Color Challenge Card no. 1

Haven't blogged for a bit.... been working on things, just "other" things. :) I am starting to put my cards up for sale slowly but surely. Lot's to do and think about to make sure it's all set up before I get going. ON to the card.

So much going on here. The colors are inspired by the current challenge at The Color Throwdown, green, red, black and kraft. I thought it might be cool in a wacky kind of way to use this rose stamp set from Papertrey Inks Text and Texture line called Roses. The grid background is new to me from Fun Stampers Journey called funny enough Grid. After I pieced it all together I added my new favorite toy, Nuvo Drops in Ebony Black. You'll be seeing tons of these from me in the future. Not only because I think they are super cool. But I just dropped a chunk of change on a bunch of them. Shhhh. My favorite are the gloss ones.

Together? Yes please,
Alicia
