Sending Love Rose Card

Again with the rose, at least it's a different color. Very tradition here. There's a retired Stampin' Up! color called Pistachio Pudding that I have had and has run out of ink. Unfortunately I didn't buy a re inker. I have been trying to find one and people want crazy prices for them, like 15 or 20 bucks! I finally found one for 9 and I snapped it up. Well you can see the color here, it's one of my favorites. again the layout was inspired by the Cas(e) This Sketch Challenge that just started up. I'll also add it to the  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

Traditional is pretty,

Hey, Friend

Same rose, same colors. This card started it's little life as a one layer card with just the rose and the triangles at the bottom. Then I stamped the greeting crooked.  I decided to cut out the rose and triangles. Leaving me to come up with something creative to do with the rest of the card. I added the wavy strip of blue/green and the white triangles going up to mimic the triangles at the bottom. A card full of conflict. Colors against a soft rose and shapes competing with that same soft rose. The layout was inspired by the sketch over at The Paper Players.

Triangles are cool,
Alicia

Double Rose Thanks

Same colors, different layout. Playing around with that Concord and 9th Painted Rose. The style of the wording in this set works well with the images. I got my inspiration for the layout from the Cas(e) This Sketch Challenge that just started up. I'll also add it to the  Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

Double roses = double the luck?

Hello Friend Polka Dot Rose Vs. 2

Take two on the polka dot rose. This time light blue. I don't think I'm quite as fond of this one, but I love to try all colors.... I used the rose from Concord and 9th, Painted Rose. This one has tiny polka dots and then just the highlights also. Then I simply stamped the outline surround the main image. Easy and repeatable card.   I used Spellbinders Everyday Sentiments II for the greeting. If you really force it and use an old beat up bottom plate you can use it for a negative image. Warning, do not use it on your nice plate. I'll add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.

Repeat, repeat,
Alicia

It's Your Day, Polka Dot Rose

Playing with this beautiful rose from Concord and 9th, Painted Rose. You'll be seeing several cards with it over the next few blog posts. This one has tiny polka dots and then just the highlights.

It's really not my day today,

Hello, hello

I was rummaging through the basement looking for something totally unrelated to stamps and I saw this little beauty peaking out of one of my boxes. It is so old, I have no idea how to even date it. It's meant to be a decorator set, you stamp on your walls with it. Can you imagine? Well it was a trend.

So I want straight to work on a card for the Fusion challenge that was inspired by tropical fish. All I can imagine fish having a brain for is to say hello.

Just keep swimming,
Alicia

Friends Til the Inevitable End...

An entertaining card to say the least. I don't know why I am so enamored with this stamp set, I just think it's so well done and fun to look at. I've used Hero Arts, Killer Message; Avery Elle, Oval Burst and Paper Flourish, Uniquely Creative Waves Die. I get to submit this card to two different challenges - the first is Fusion, Tropical Fish. Is a shark a Tropical Fish? We will see. :P. The second is - Cas(e) This Sketch.

Jaws scared me as a child,

You're In My Thoughts Floral Cascade

Seemingly simple. Lots of different types of layers going on here. Hand coloring, stamping, stamping on colored card stock, embossing on coloring card stock. I'm probably missing something. That's the kind of thing that other card makers appreciate about each others work. The stamp set used here is from Simon Says Stamp called Sketched Flowers. This card was designed for the Color Throwdown challenge this week, I'll be adding it in there.

Check out all those layers,
Alicia

You Got This

My first try at this week's Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are yellow, orange, navy and green. I tried it out with my marble set from Altenew, One Day at a Time. I'll try a few more times to see what I can come up. I figure this card is great for a guy... nice to have on hand.

I'm not sure what "this" is, but I think I need to get some,
Alicia
