You Can Do Anything

This feather set from Concord & 8th is a really terrific standby set. It works will nearly all colors, if not all, and is a blank slate for a greeting of any kind. I like stamp sets lie that especially. The stamp set is called Feathered. Another card destined for the Color Throwdown Challenge this week, I think I have one more. I was feeling quite out of tune creativitely, so I embarked on a simpler card with a dependable image to get myself going.

I can stamp,
Alicia

Hope Your Birthday is Swell

It's shark week here on the ol' blog. JK, at least it's shark day. This one in particular is by Avery Elle called Sea-prise! I thought I had finished the card, then I added the little fish which balanced it out perfectly. Isn't it nice when you find the little final touch on your card that completes it? Lot's of coloring with my copics, at least a lot of area. He looks like he is happily swimming up to the surface and grabbing a snack on the way. This card is specifically for The Color Throwdown Challenge this week, The colors are feeling a bit nautical to me.

Sharks scare me to bits,

Thanks for Everything, Doily Card

I spent the evening playing around with an old stamp set from My Minds Eye called Gertie "Girlie". Those doily stamps have come out of the dust from 2011. And boy I sill think they look lovely. Lots of detail and a nice variety of sizes. I've turned the sketch inside out for this one by using MFT's Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window Die. If you look closely enough you can see the embossed polka dots in the window... darn photography blows out the whites sometimes. The greeting comes from Simon Says Stamp's Big Thanks. This one is for Cas(e) This Sketch  and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge/Stitches -

Nothing says thanks like a doily,
Alicia

Sending Good Vibes

I spent some time challenging myself to work with some interesting shapes on this card. The arched window is supposed to be a tag die and adding the thin horizontal stripes fills it in. The circles trailing behind were and afterthought. I think I like them, but I'm not settled. A little zen going on here....  the star of the show here is that cute little plant trying to grow from Altenew's Indoor Garden stamp set. This lovely little chill-out card will be going to the Paper Players Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge/Stitches -

Seriously good vibes,
Alicia

Lucky to Be Different

White space and plants... hmmm. Let me think on that. Seriously so up my ally. The challenge does say minimal layers, which I do struggle with a bit. Love to have contrasting white layers. Three stamps sets going on here. First, Altenew's Indoor Garden, second Tracey Hey's Stand Out (greeting) and third Stampin' Up!'s Gorgeous Grunge (retired). This lovely little white space filled card will be going to the Paper Players Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge/Stitches -

Different makes the world go round,

It's Going to Be Amazing

A quick card for the Less is More Challenge: Beverages. I don't have many stamp sets with beverages... I thought I'd start with this one, she's a cutie. I don't know why she didn't photograph very well, the coloring looks so blotchy. Too bad, it's darling in person. I'll have to work on this challenge a bit more.

Yes, I will work on amazing,
Alicia

You're a Gem

Here's another attempt at the MFT Sketch Challenge this week. I just can't seem to leave it alone. When something is stuck in my head as a bit of a difficulty it makes me want to work with it a little more than usual. I had fun coloring these gems from Studio Calico's Say Hooray stamp set (retired). Polka dots in the background keep it on the feminine side and the pointed edging works with the angles in the gems. I'll be adding this one in addition to the others to the MFT Sketch Challenge.

I like gems, I just don't have any,
Alicia

Thinking of You, Mail Card

Love this stamp set, Sending Happy Thoughts from Simon Says Stamp. How cute do those little envelopes look colored with copic markers and scattered all over the card.  I finally found my groove with this sketch from the MFT Sketch Challenge. The hearts from Winnie and Walter called Scenery: Seeing Hearts, raining down pull it all together and keep it from being too bland. I'll be adding this one to the challenge over at MFT's Sketch challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge/Stitches, crossing my fingers.

It's mail time,
Alicia

Hi Sweetie, Strawberry Card

How darned real do these strawberries look? Holy cow. I think I could pick one off of the card front and eat it. They did take a while to make. I think there were four layers to the berry and two layers to the stems an I made six berries. The stamp set is from Sunny Studio and called Berry Bliss. Something interesting, I stamped the berries in layers of darker pinks and because of all the layers they turned a lovely red... This card is headed over to Freshly Made Sketches and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge/Stitches.

Berrilicious,
Alicia
