When You Need to Send a Prayer...

Sometimes I need to send extra support to a friend or family member in need, and that involves a prayer. I've had this stamp set and die called Prayers from Simon Says Stamp for several years and haven't used it. It's too bad, because there have been so many situations where a thoughtful card would have made the difference in someones hardship for even a moment. I will be making a stack of these to have on hand. It took a while to come up with a design that I felt could be easily reproduced. I can easily change out the purple for other colors for a change of pace.

I've got prayers for ya if you need 'em,
Alicia

Gold Tipped Feathers

Working with the triangles again. This layout was completely experimental. It was actually the first attempt at a card before this card (I'll show it below). I like the sentiment, it feels very personal, sometimes you need that personal touch. I used the die Feathers and Arrows from My Favorite Things to gold tip. To create the stripes I used Altenew's Halftone Squares. The greeting is from a miscellaneous set, I'm afraid I don't have the name, sorry. I am pleased with the layout of this card.

Here's the secondary card to this one:

I promise to...

Update:

Yay, one of my favorite cards ever won at Cas(e) This Sketch!

Special Order Cacti Card

Once in a while I get a special request from someone to make a card. This one is for a sweet friend for her granddaughter who need a round of support after a disappointing letdown. She'd a teenager, so  I felt the cacti trend was suitable and I worked with the black and white scheme. I love the saying, it's from Gina K. Designs, Life is Tough My Darling but so are You. Great for all of us when we need it.

Be tough,
Alicia

Best Wishes (Trendy Circles)

This Trendy Circles set is trickier than I had originally thought. It's not that it can't look fabulous, it's that it's hard to stamp with without it look similar to all the other cards I make. I'm going to have to do some shopping around for some cards to case and then get the ideas flowing. This is and original though. I like the gold, pink and white and how the circles are popped-up. Winner in my book.

Best wishes with those tough stamps sets,
Alicia

Believe in Yourself Unicorn Style

My daughter, the nearly graduated english major tried to think of a word. I tried to explain what i was looking for, she tried really hard to understand me. I still don't think we figured it out. The best we could come up with was that this stamp set is a sarcastic take on unicorns. Now-a-days unicorns are not to be taken seriously. Back in the day, the late 70's early 80's it was a different story, I was all about rainbows and unicorns, serious, pretty unicorns. I like what has happened to them. It works.

A new stamp set to me today, Concord and 9th's Unicorn Awesomeness. I wanted to color her right away with my copic markers. I dove right in with my favorite color. I pulled out the ol' gold pen and filled in her horn and hooves. Added a few gems and done.

To those of use who believe in unicorns,
Alicia

You Can Do This

The first time I saw this little elephant reaching I though of him/her keeping hold of something and trying her best to keep it from going away. The balloon was a perfect fit. The simple black and white balloons keep the image moving and show how hard she is working and make the greeting on the card come alive. The card uses the stamp set Adorable Elephants from My Favorite Things and the greeting is called Hello Gorgeous! from Hero Arts (retired).

You can do this,

Making a Color Splash, Birthday Style

I couldn't get this funny idea out of my head. Last night while I was ready to go to bed I ran back upstairs and put it together while it was fresh in my mind. It went together pretty quickly.... except for the little elephant. He was supposed to be striped. It just wouldn't work out, so I decided to color each part of him a different color, it works well and shades better than stripes and the different parts of his little body are more visible. I took quick photos and laid down in bed for quick editing and then realized I forgot the "happy birthday" greeting. Good night, time to sleep. So here I am up this morning, slapped on a greeting and delivering a post to anyone who cares to read.

This card is inspired by the MFT Birthday Callenge, Rainbows. Again I had it all on my desk... you know how it rolls by now. If it's on my desk I usually will make something with it. My Copic markers came in handy as wells as two MFT sets Adorable Elephants and Happy Hippos.

I'm in the mood for color(s),
Alicia
